Article #109 - Interoperability

The GridWise™ Architecture Council (GWAC) is sponsored by the US Department of Energy. The GWAC's mission is to establish broad industry consensus in support of the technical principles that enable the vast scale interoperability necessary to transform electric power operations into a system that integrates markets and technology to enhance our socio-economic well-being and security. The GWAC has several projects in progress.

• The GridWise Architecture Council Interoperability Constitution Whitepaper The GWAC Interoperability Constitution focus is on developing broad-based buy-in and input on the interoperability statements of principle required to support the GridWise vision.
• The GridWise Architecture Council Interoperability Path Forward Whitepaper This whitepaper provides initial definitions of interoperability, describes the status of interoperability today, and the path forward toward future interoperability.
• A GridWise Interoperability Framework and Context-Setting Picture
• Levels of Interoperability

Working group efforts and Task Forces are currently addressing specific areas of interoperability as identified by the Interoperability Constitution. Please use the "Contact Us" page for further information if you are interested in participating in an interoperability working group.
